Shared Note: - The probate file of Daniel Robertson reveals several interesting facts. As per the testimony of his wife, Alvira Robertson, he died on April 2, 1872, on his farm in Carlton, Orleans county, New York. He would have been about 41 years old, at the time of his death. This is the only source related to his date of death, as no burial record has yet been found for Daniel. Daniel did not write a will, and his estate was not entered into probate till several years later. On November 19,1877, his mother-in-law, Sally Kelsey finally petitioned the court. The petition of Sally Kelsey, mentions his widowed wife Alvira, his married daughter, Viola Andrews (Andrus), and his two minor children, Ellis (actually Elwin) and Wilbert. The testimony also states that Sally estimated the entire estate of Daniel Robertson to be worth less than $800, at the time of his death. The petition is signed by Sally Kelsey.
